Moving close enough to read the bread’s texture. A photographic study of crust, crumb and baking contrasts.

A closer look at bread

A close-up turns a slice of bread into a landscape of textures. The air pockets, the crust’s contours and the inclusions become elements of the composition.

The selection alternates an extreme close-up with a more readable cross-section. These two distances reveal the texture without losing the connection to the product. Pastry images add another colour to this culinary study in the studio.
