SÉBASTIEN PRENZA, PHOTOGRAPHER & FILMMAKER
Food photographer in Montpellier
Food, textures and composition: I photograph your creations to reveal your products and their character, in the studio or on location, depending on the project.
Let’s talk about your project ↗The product at the centre of the image
To present food, a pastry creation or an artisan range, I work with shape, texture, colour and framing. The bread and brioche at Claudette, the details of crust and crumb and the creations at Graine de Vanille show different ways of approaching products. To also tell the story of a venue’s dining room, team and service, explore my restaurant photography.
At L’Essentiel, from plating to tasting
Sauces in motion, close-up bites and precisely plated desserts: this selection from L’Essentiel restaurant shows different ways to photograph a culinary creation. Discover the L’Essentiel reportage ↗
Culinary art, captured with feeling
Food photography is much more than showing dishes. It is a way to convey the passion, precision and generosity behind every recipe. As a food photographer in Montpellier, I love creating images that awaken the senses: the texture of warm bread, golden light on a focaccia fresh from the oven, a focused chef’s gesture…
To refine your photographic direction, compare studio and on-location photography, choose suitable backgrounds and colours and plan framing for your channels.
My approach: natural, bright and sincere.
My aim: to show your cuisine at its best while respecting its authenticity.
Who is it for?
I work with the food and artisan community around Montpellier and across the Hérault:
- Fine-dining, bistronomic and neighbourhood restaurants
- Coffee shops, wine bars and hotels
- Artisans and producers: bakeries, coffee roasters, patisseries, caterers…
- Artisan food brands and creators
Every world is unique. My role is to bring yours to light through images consistent with your identity.
Images that make a difference
When so much depends on images, beautiful photographs are an essential way to:
- Catch the eye on Google, Instagram or TripAdvisor,
- Create appetite before a customer even reads the menu,
- Build a strong visual identity across your website, social media, posters and press,
- Showcase your team, your place, your products and your craft.
Natural, lively, appetising photographs: this is how your craft stands out.
My style & method
Every photo session is an immersion in your world. Before the shoot, we discuss your needs: atmosphere, menu, products to showcase and how the images will be used — website, social media, press…
During the shoot:
- I work mainly with natural light, preserving realistic colours and the feeling of the moment.
- I pay close attention to composition, textures and ambient light, creating a timeless, elegant result.
- The photographs are then carefully edited in Lightroom to achieve a soft, harmonious balance.
Selected collaborations
I have had the pleasure of working with a number of local establishments and brands:
- L’Essentiel, restaurant
- Cocobaïa, beach venue
- Mamie, sourdough bakery
- La Maison d’Anna, traditional Italian trattoria
- Fabiano Focaccia, artisan Italian cuisine in Montpellier
- Bibal , renowned coffee roaster specialising in hospitality and vending
- Corbeau Coffee Roaster, speciality coffee roaster and coffee shop
- Bivouac Café, a welcoming place at Marché du Lez
- Graine de Vanille, a fine patisserie in Marseille, winner of the city’s best flan pâtissier award
Every collaboration is a human connection, a story told through images.
