PHOTO REPORTAGE, FOOD ARTISANS

Mamie

From bakehouse to counter: a reportage on the gestures, bread and people who bring Mamie to life. With Guillaume Frayssinet, craft has a face.

Let’s talk about your project ↗

Bread, and everything it tells us

Telling Mamie’s story means looking at what happens before a loaf reaches the counter. Flour in the air, hands at work and bakery tools reveal a living craft. The series follows this thread, then moves closer to Guillaume Frayssinet and the team.

For a bakery, the story can combine texture and preparation. Explore the advice on photographing bread’s crust and crumb and giving close-up textures a place.

In this reportage I brought together gestures, products and people. Their scales respond to one another: a texture detail, a working scene, a portrait. Together, they present a house through what it makes and the people who bring it to life.

MAMIE, THE STORY

A face behind the craft

A photo story at the pace of the bakery: the work, Guillaume and the spirit of Mamie.

01 / MAMIE, IN THE BAKERY

It begins with the hands

Flour in the air, dough and hands at work. Inside the bakery, telling the story of life before the loaf.

Movement. Texture. Life.

02 / MAMIE, THE PORTRAIT

Guillaume Frayssinet

A loaf in his hands, a smile at the counter. Photographing Guillaume also means putting a face to the world of Mamie.

Bread. And connection.

03 / MAMIE, THE TEAM SPIRIT

One team. One house

Different personalities, an easy rapport and the pleasure of making things together. The story continues from the bakery to the shop.

From flour to counter.

From movement to portrait

In the bakehouse, movement is part of the image. Flour in the air, dough and hands give the work in progress its place. At the counter, Guillaume’s portrait with his bread continues the story: product and person meet in the same photograph.

The portrait with the baker’s peel and the team images complete the series. They show other presences and attitudes, moving from making to welcoming. Photographs of the bags finally connect the bread to Mamie’s visual identity.

One series, several ways to tell the story

Alternating gesture, product, portrait and identity offers several ways into the reportage. It can present the place as a whole or focus on one image to talk about a loaf, a person or a moment of making. Channels and distribution rights are defined for each project.
